![]() ![]() Small Town theater that serves great Iowa Popcorn only. The owner even came out and welcomed us before the movie started. We got to relax, enjoy some popcorn and a drink. Super Cute theater! I stopped there with my husband on the way home from an out of town trip. It wasnt the biggest or fanciest theatre ever, the seats were small and there was only one screen, but this place has charm and character, a great movie experience in a small town setting. Went to see war for planet of the apes with a friend. This is the only theater we go to to see new releases. Great deal with refillable plastic popcorn buckets and soda cups that you can keep bringing back every movie for half price. Great friendly owners, with the cheapest tickets for new releases. Vernon for yourself :)īest theater in the Cedar Rapids area. Please check out this jewel in beautiful Mt. This will be the only theater I frequent in the future and so worth the short drive from Cedar Rapids! The best popcorn ever along with friendly, personally invested owners. ![]() Went for the first time last week and it was awesome!! What a wonderful FAMILY FRIENDLY and SAFE atmosphere. Whether it is the in person announcement of the upcoming schedule, the recycling program that asks that you bring your own lidded cups and popcorn bowls to reduce waste for a reduced price or the fun nature of a small theater, this is a great place to visit and enjoy a family movie with family and friends. ![]() Not only was I excited to see the movie on my way there, I also felt very happy to be where I was while I was there! 10 out of 10 guys! Thanks so much for making the movie going experience as exciting as it was when I was a child! :-)Ī blast from the past as to what "Going to the Movies" was like and should be like. DEFINITELY was a very fun, happy mood, always welcome here type of feeling that you could never experience at the big theaters. The service we received and the experience was wonderfully nostalgic! From the low cost, ample selection of concessions(also reasonably priced), and the ticket number drawings for prizes done by the owners themselves. Beware of traffic on home football game days!! Especially when the game let's out.Really takes me back to when I was a kid. There is an app to track the city buses on there routes. Big Grove Brewery in Iowa City has an outdoor play area for kids which makes it our "go to" for a relaxing family meal. If you don't like crowds, check out activities in the surrounding towns for fun but less crowded events (Solon, Kalona etc). Summer is full of free activities so take advantage because the free tends to go away when school starts up. Favorite Activity: I love driving the backroads to Kalona to take in the beautiful countryside and visit their Golden Delight Amish Bakery (cheesy bread, raspberry angel food cake and pecan caramel cinnamon rolls are personal favs), hitting up Central Discount or the Stringtown Grocery stores (in the summer you can walk from one to the other but watch out for the horse manure!), and visiting the Kalona coffeeshop which has a little play area for small kiddos.īest Vacation Spot: Amana Colonies, Starved Rock State ParkĪdvice: For those new to the area: Parking downtown IC is mostly paid but a few parking garages offer the first hour free. ![]()
